The snow is plentiful, so the Ludington State Park is extending their snowshoe making classes into January and February. Snowshoeing is easy for all ages and is a fun and healthy way to enjoy the winter.

Dates and times are:

Sunday, Dec. 21, 10am-5pm
Sunday, Jan. 11, 9am-5pm
Mon & Tues, Jan. 12 & 13, 6-10pm (2-day class)
Sat & Sun, Jan. 31 & Feb. 1, 9am-1pm (2-day class)
Sunday, Feb. 15, 9am-5pm

Instructors will guide you through the steps to making top-of-the-line traditional wooden snowshoes that will get you through the deep snowfalls, and will last for generations. The class fee of $160 covers the cost of the snowshoe kit, and class size is limited. Call the Ludington State Park for reservations at (231) 843-9261. A reminder--a Michigan State Park Motor Vehicle Permit is required for all park visitors throughout the year.
