Holiday Happenings in Scottville
Scottville knows how to make the holidays merry and bright. All through December, there are activities to keep everyone busy.
The big Christmas Show & Sale will be held Dec. 5, 6, & 7 from 10am-5pm at 101 S. Main Street. Keep your shopping local this year and shop handmade holiday gifts at low prices. The Show will feature 20 artists, each displaying their unique items.
Downtown businesses will be sprucing up their downtown window displays, in hopes of winning a prize. Judging takes place December 5, so shop downtown Scottville and enjoy the decorations.
Saturday, December 6 is filled with holiday fun. Join Santa from 8-10:30am at North Country Cafe for breakfast, children's activities, and treats for all of Santa's visitors. Buffet is $5.99 per person. Then at 12:30pm, Scottville's Santa Parade will head through the downtown area. Registration and lineup will take place at MCC lower elementary school at 11:30am, with judging at noon.
Following the parade at 1pm, head to the Scottville Optimist Hall for the Santa Party. Here you can take a photo with Santa, play games, sing along with Bob Simms and more. The Community Christmas Tree Decoration & Lighting begins at 3pm. Bring your favorite family ornament to the community tree in the East Park in downtown Scottville. Tree lighting will be at 5pm. Each family ornament will commemorate those families who have been touched by cancer.
Tuesday Night Holiday Shopping will be held December 9, 16, & 23 from 5-7pm. Downtown businesses will stay open late to help you shop after work. To thank the community for shopping local, these businesses will be handing out raffle tickets for every $10 spent in downtown Scottville. These tickets can then be entered to win $50 in downtown gift certificates. Winners will be announced each Tuesday at 7pm.
Scottville is the place to be in December for all your Christmas shopping and fun!
